Earth Day is a day of responsibility to our planet, responsibility to the people who inhabit it, to the nature itself, of which we are a part .
Earth Day is an annual event celebrated on April 22. Worldwide, various events are held to demonstrate support for environmental protection. The Earth Day gives every inhabitant in all the populated corners of the world the opportunity to express gratitude to our Mother Earth.
In order to enlighten the importance of the planet we live on, a morning assembly was conducted by the students of Grade IV C & V C on the topic ˜Save Mother Earth'. The assembly commenced with the divine blessings of God through morning prayer followed by the Gayatri mantra. The assembly aimed at senstilizing one and all present, on how we are polluting our planet, and the ill effects of global warming and also to inculcate the use of three R's i.e. reduce, reuse and recycle through a motivating skit by the students of Grade VC. Lastly, the students of Grade IV C culminated the assembly with an inspiring song.
The efforts of the students for taking the initiative to appraise their fellow mates about the danger we human beings are creating on this mother land and ways to reduce it was worth appreciation.
