Lord Shiva the reigning deity among the holy trinity of Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh, is known to us by many names. He is the creator and the destroyer, Lord Shiva is the giver of wisdom.
Mahashivaratri which means 'the Great Night of Shiva' is a Hindu festival celebrated annually in honor of Lord Shiva, and specifically, marks the day of the marriage of Lord Shiva to Goddess Parvati. It is observed with fervor by chanting prayers, fasting, and meditating on ethics and virtues such as self-restraint, honesty, forgiveness.
To feel the verve of the festival, a special assembly on Mahashivratri' was conducted by the students of Prudence School Dwarka 22 with great enthusiasm and gusto. The assembly commenced with Morning Prayer, sharing the thought of the day and news headlines. It was followed by a group song Om Shiva that spiritually aligned the environment. The significance of the day was showcased by a theatrical performance presented by the students highlighting the holy matrimony of Lord Shiva and Parvati along with related mythological facts.
Students also performed on 'Shiva Tandava Stotra' staging Shiva's power and beauty which made the celebration buoyant. The auspiciousness of this day for Goddess Parvati was exhibited and heartfelt prayers were offered to Lord Shiva by all. Everyone has swayed away with the chanting of the sacred mantra Om Namah Shivay' which made the milieu holy and consecrated. The assembly was culminated by motivating words of our reverent incharges who encouraged the students to practice the preachings of Lord Shiva to live life with wisdom.
