Baisakhi is a festival that marks the onset of a new season. It is also a time to reap crops and therefore, an occasion for celebration.
The festival of Baisakhi marks the establishment of the Sikh community known as the Khalsa or brotherhood of saint-soldiers. The group was formed to fight against tyranny and oppression. The festival also marks the annual harvest in Punjab that ushers in the Sikh New Year.
To commemorate Baisakhi festival, an assembly was conducted by the students of Prudence School Dwarka 22.
Festival celebrated in veneration of Sikh Gurus was introduced to students when assembly commenced with the morning prayer. Student anchor invited the students for sharing the importance of assembly. The young performers sang a song that was well synchronized and attempted Bhangra in great delight manifesting the vibes of prosperity. It was a treat to see the students performing, dressed in traditional vibrant Punjabi attire. Students were dolled up and festooned with vibrant colours and everyone was overwhelmingly beatific to mark the pious moment. The assembly was a spontaneous example of teamwork by the students and teachers, where each child got an opportunity to showcase his/her talent on stage. An ecstatic ovation by the audience, energized the performers thereby spurring to reach great heights.
