Tangram puzzles are intended as a useful way to develop spatial skills and visual orientation skills. With superb versatility and emphasis on creative problem solving, they can be an excellent learning device for both students and teachers. With the same objective, a ˜Tangram' activity was organized for the students of Grade 1. During the activity, students were given Tangram puzzle sets and Rangometry kits in groups wherein they moved the pieces around and tried to make pictures of different animals, objects or letters. This fun-filled activity gave students an excellent opportunity to test out different manipulations of shapes and become familiar with the properties of the shapes they used.
